How Did It Start?
On June 25th 1950 over 7,500 North Korean Soldiers crossed the 38th Parallel and Entered South Korea to Have rights over them and rule them. The attack on them was first Military action made in the Cold War. It was only 5 years after World War II, It was North Korea, China and Russia (All Communist Countries vs. South Korea and 21 United Nation Countries including Australia. Their Job was to Hold out North Korea and make sure they don’t Combine Counties and get ruled over by them. North Korea kept trying to push for more land and take over but the United Nations build defenses around the city to Defend and force them backwards. 1951 they tried to negotiate to stop the war, but weeks later the building they discussed got destroyed and the talks were suspended. July 19th 1953 an Agreement was made to stop fight and will end on the 27th of July 1953. Many soldiers were killed from both Parties.

Over 6 Million Soldiers, Sailors and Pilots fought in the war. Three Million were from North Korea, China and Russia while the other Three million were from South Korea and 21 United Nation Countries. Over 2.5 Million Civilians killed.
Total communist military casualties were about 1,100,000(North Korea 140’000, China 183’108 Dead) while Total United Nations Command military casualties were about 440,000(South Korea 47’000, USA 36’574 Dead). Over 17’000 Australians Served, 339 Killed, 1’500 Wounded and 29 Captured by the enemy’s.
